Two women arrested in connection with Napa identity theft

Two women were arrested Wednesday in Clearlake in connection with an identity theft ring after a month-long investigation, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

The case began in March after a resident on James Creek Road in Pope Valley saw two women in a red car searching mailboxes. Later, residents reported their credit cards were used in Middletown and on a website that offers phone service time to inmates, Sheriff’s Capt. Doug Pike said.

Cozette Roper, 31, and Dorna Keith, 39, were arrested at their respective residences. They were transported to Napa County and booked into the jail on suspicion of fraudulent use of an access card and identity theft, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
