Taxi driver charged with identity theft

A man from Stillwater who obtained a credit card from a taxi cab passenger used it to go on a shopping spree across Saratoga County, according to police.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Conrad Moore, 28, of Lake Street on Sunday. While employed as a cab driver on May 18 and 19, Moore took possession of a credit card that a customer left behind and made purchases with it at locations in Wilton, Stillwater, Malta, Halfmoon and Clifton Park, according to county sheriff’s office Investigator Steven Brown.

Moore was charged with first-degree identity theft, second-degree forgery and four counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies, and four counts of third-degree identity theft, a misdemeanor, according to police.

Moore is expected to appear in court soon. The county sheriff’s office did not say what company employed him.
