Rialto school official held in ID theft case – U

RIALTO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say an assistant principal at a San Bernardino County school has been arrested on suspicion of identity theft and other charges.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reported Wednesday (http://bit.ly/1iRWcLc ) that 48-year-old Kimberly Watson was taken into custody last week on the campus of Carter High School in Rialto.

Rialto Unified School District spokeswoman Syeda Jafri says the arrest is a personal issue and not related to the school.

Court records indicate Watson was booked on suspicion of unlawfully using someone else’s identifying information, two counts of forgery and two counts of filing a false document with a public agency. She is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.

Jafri says Watson was placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
