Man wanted for identity theft and stealing equipment

On May 3, the man rented a flatbed trailer and a generator from Cal West Rentals in Petaluma, which he failed to return to the store on the promised delivery date. During their investigation, police determined that he used another man’s identity to rent the equipment.

When they contacted the identity theft victim, police learned that it was not the first time the suspect had committed this crime. The victim said he had been receiving calls about rental equipment that was not returned from Hertz Rentals in Oakland and Southern California.

The equipment missing from Petaluma includes a 2002 Demco DT6000E flatbed car trailer, with California license plate: 4AF199; and a Honda model EU2001 generator. The store’s security camera captured images of the man, who has dark hair, a heavy build and a beard.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call 778-4372.
