Learn about identity theft, college planning at the Warren Library


WARREN TWP. – Identity theft is a topic of a program held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the Warren Township Library, 42 Mountain Blvd.

Learn More about It: Identity Theft will discuss the most common types of identity theft, how to recognize the warning signs and what you can do to prevent it from happening to you. The personal information that you need to protect at home and online will be highlighted. If you are a victim of identity theft we’ll show you the steps to take to minimize the impact and to repair whatever damage was done.

An “Identity Theft Repair Kit” will be available that includes important phone numbers and websites that help with the resolution process. An officer from the Warren Police Department will be on hand to offer a local perspective and help with public questions or comment. Registration required.

Other programs at the library include Recent Foreign Films meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30. With Hollywood studios increasingly rebooting and recycling the same films, has there ever been a better time to explore the wild and wonderful world of foreign films?

Many of the funniest, most exciting and critically-acclaimed movies of the past five years have been foreign films. Join Collection Management Librarian Morris Balacco on an international cinematic journey as he guides you through some of the best recent foreign films and which ones are available through the extensive Somerset County collection. Registration required.

College Financial Planning: for Parents/Guardians of Students in Grades 9-12, meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30. This free educational college financial planning workshop presented by Mike Velasco will focus on parents of high school students. Registration required.
