JPSO seeks name of identity theft suspect, persons of interest

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of committing identity theft at several local stores.

Investigators released photos of the suspect, as well as persons of interest who accompanied him, taken by surveillance cameras, according to Col. John Fortunato, spokesman for the department.

The man used what investigators believe was a counterfeit Louisiana driver’s license to open lines of credit at local businesses. He then went on to make fraudulent purchases at stores in Harahan, Gretna and New Orleans East.

Investigators suspect he has also tried his luck at stores in Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie.
