Community Shred-It Block Party To Stop Identity Theft

Is your identity safe? The resounding answer is NO. One in ten consumers experienced identity theft. Nineteen people fall victim to identity theft every minute. You don’t have to be next. Using a paper shredder is a powerful tool to safeguard your personal information.

Come to the First Annual “Community Shred-It” Block Party hosted by Artistic Advocacy Outreach on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 10am – 1pm at the Leather Trade Artistic Lofts located at 1600 Locust Street, St. Louis MO 63103. Bring your bags and boxes of documents for shredding.

Artistic Advocacy Outreach has teamed with Shred-It, the world’s leading on site document destruction company, to help people take action against identity theft and fraud. “Regularly destroy confidential personal and business documents that are no longer need”, says Jeff Germann, General Manager of Shred-It St. Louis. “Community shreds raise awareness of the dangers of identity theft and encourage consumers and businesses to take steps to protect themselves from these crimes”.

In addition to identity theft, the Community Shred will also provide information to bring awareness of human trafficking. “St. Louis ranks in the top twenty cities in the nation in human trafficking,”
says Jacquelyne Tyler, co-founder of Artistic Advocacy Outreach. “Human trafficking robs the persons of their identity. We want to inform, educate and mobilize concerned citizens to end this practice”.

Join your neighbors and friends as Artistic Advocacy Outreach helps you protect your identity and learn how to help others to recover theirs.
