COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating a burglary and identity theft incident involving an 86 year-old victim that occurred on August 19. 

Police are looking for a known suspect and working on identifying a second unknown suspect.

The suspects knocked on the door of the victim’s residence and told him they were with the health department. They said they were checking on his health and entered his home. The identified suspect, 44 year-old Sharien Charmack, distracted and spoke the victim, while the second suspect stole his credit card. They left the home. Once he noticed his credit card was missing, he called his bank. 

The suspects purchased gift cards at a convenience store and then used the gift cards at a department store. The two suspects were in a white, 4-door, Ford extended cab pickup truck. Surveillance video shows that they were also with a white man and a child.

The second, unidentified suspect is described as a white female, 5’4″, 110 to 130 pounds with red or auburn hair. 

Police describe Charmack as a white female, 5’11”, 170 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. She is a also wanted by Arizona officials because they say she violated her probation. The Colorado Springs Police Department has a warrant out for her arrest. She faces the following charges: Second Degree Burglary, Money Laundering, Identity Theft, Crimes Against at Risk Elder – Theft and Criminal Impersonation. Her bond is set at $300,000.
