A Canandaigua man is accused of taking a credit card from a volunteer fire department in northern New York.

Brent Kirk, 35, is charged with identity theft. State Police say he used the charge card from a fire department in Saint Lawrence County to buy $400 worth of items at the Walmart in Victor.

It’s unclear what connection he has to the fire company.

He was released and is scheduled to be back in court Thursday.
