4 Cases Of Identity Theft Reported To Lower Makefield Police In One Day

LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA — Police in Lower Makefield Township are investigating numerous incidences of identity theft and fraud that have all been reported within the last week. In one of the most extreme cases, someone used a resident’s T-Mobile account to purchase $2,339.95 worth of phones and accessories.

On one single day — Wednesday, April 26 — police received four reports of identity theft and one report of credit card fraud.

Here’s a full list of the incidents reported to local police:

Identity Theft (All of these incidents were reported April 26)

  • A resident on the 200 block of Penn Valley Terrace reported an unknown person used their information to open two accounts in their name.
  • A resident on the 2600 block of Lynbrooke Drive reported reported an unknown person opened an account in their name.
  • A resident on the 500 block of Leslie Lane reported an unknown person hacked into their email and placed orders on Amazon using their information.
  • A resident on the Unit block of Milton Drive reported an unknown person opened an account in their name.

Credit Card Fraud

April 26: A resident along the 900 block of Harrow Road reported unauthorized use of a credit card in the amount of $256.79.

April 21: A resident along the 1500 block of Brookfield Rd. reported unauthorized use of credit card in the amount of $636.80.

Fraud

April 21: A resident along the 1500 block of Edgewood Rd. reported an unknown person used their T-Mobile account to purchase $2,339.95 worth of phones and accessories.
