I had identity theft protection for a year now, but the $12.99/month really took a toll since I'm a college student. So I decided to cancel it today.

I don't really use my checking account, and I only keep less than 1k in my checkings because I feel safer storing my own money with me.

Was it a good idea that I cancelled it in my situation?
